A Tickled Pink Rainbow
Baby Girl -- our rainbow -- Due Summer 2012. Here I will write her love letters, document the precious moments of her life, and discover myself as the mother to both an angel son and an earthly daughter. She is our Ticked Pink Rainbow.

Popcorn Belly
Baby Girl aka my Wiggle Worm!
Daddy felt you kick!!! You've been moving around all day (and well, I've felt you consistently for the past 2 days). I just placed your daddy's palm firm against my tummy and you continue to thump, thump, thump his hand. He loved it. He's felt you move before, but actually feeling you kick isn't something he's used to.
I visited Dr. Swaboda today (our OB). The visit was simple: weight check, urine sample, blood pressure, belly measurement, and listening to your heartbeat (always my favorite part). While Nurse Judy was taking my blood pressure she asked me "Feeling baby move?" My reply "Yep, she's feels like popcorn in my belly!" Nurse Judy laughed. She said it was a great way to explain it and had never heard it put that way. That's what you are, my love, popcorn in my belly. Your thump, thumps cannot be distinguished yet between punches, kicks, elbows, or knees. I just feel a few pops in my lower tummy, a few pops near my belly button, a few to the side. I'm not sure if you're having a dance party or using my uterus as a punching bag. Either way, I love feeling you move, knowing you're tucked safe and sound inside and growing like you should.
We love you, baby girl! Only 15 more weeks until your arrival. Time is flying....

"Half-Baked"
We're half-baked today. In technical terms, we're half way to full term. Time is both flying and crawling by simultaneously. Baby Girl is quite the wiggle worm, and although our many ultrasounds have given her away in weeks past, I'm actually able to feel her Olympic size movements in there. No kicking and punching just yet. She just likes to move from side to side creating this "pressure" that I can only describe as her 1. ramming the walls of my uterus or 2. snuggling in to that one side then leaping off it to the other, lol. She kept me up all night last night. I can't really complain. It's the start to many up-all-nighters, but I couldn't be more thankful that she's healthy and moving. Only 17 more weeks until we get to meet her....only 17.
:: Baby Girl, You are quite the wiggle worm, my love. I love it though. It's not always "comfortable" but I like that you let me know you're there. You seem to have the exact replica movements your big brother did. He was always putting his butt first to my tummy. It always made me smile, and it's not different with you. Daddy can feel you move now too. Soon we'll feel kicks, but you can take it easy on me, lol. We're half way to full term, little girl! But we're more than half way to meeting you. Only 17 more weeks!!! Daddy and I have been working on your nursery too. We hope you like it. I love you, Baby Girl. I'm so excited to meet you and to shower you with kisses and cuddles. Love always, Momma ::

Teardrops to Rainbows
"Rainbow Babies" is the understanding that the beauty of a rainbow does not negate the ravages of the storm. When a rainbow appears, it doesn't mean the storm never happened or that the family is not still dealing with its aftermath. What it means is that something beautiful and full of light has appeared in the midst of the darkness and clouds. Storm clouds may still hover but the rainbow provides a counterbalance of color, energy and hope.
